Kaehla and Jon from the Mixing Bowl are all about bringing delicious food and homemade baked goods to Syracuse, NY. They make everything in-house and source their ingredients so every dish is the highest quality.
But when they first came to us, they were facing a couple of challenges. People didn’t always understand that so much of their food was handmade and there was a confusion about their identity- were they a diner, bakery, or cafe? This made it hard to establish a clear brand in the community. On top of that, they needed to hire a new baker to help them expand their business.
Here’s where we came in....
Fresh New Look
1. Brand Identity
First, we helped Kaehla and Jon dive deep to define their brand identity. We uncovered their Core Values which became the foundation of their brand. Next, we analyzed their Target Audience, identifying pain points and consumer behavior to better cater to their customers. To ensure their personality shone through, we crafted a distinct Brand Voice reflecting their warmth and dedication. Finally, we also designed a Brand Guidelines kit, inspired by the laid-back cursive of their logo and the blue walls of their restaurant.
2. Website Design
Next, we designed a website that captured their unique business. We created a Daily Eats Menu and a Custom Bakery Sweets menu, making it super easy for customers to discover their delicious food and baked goods. We added a Wholesale page to expand their B2B reach and an About page to share their passion for homemade, locally sourced food. Recognizing their growth potential, we also set up a Career page to help them find new bakers.
To help guide visitors, we included specific
call-to-actions at the end of each page. Now, their online presence truly reflects who they are, making it easier for customers to see what makes the Mixing Bowl so special.
3. Custom Menus
Here's how we made their offerings irresistible: We drew more attention to their Daily Eats Menu by writing a more descriptive menu that made their audience hungry and eager to visit.
We also designed their Custom Bakery Sweets menu with user experience in mind, featuring accordion menus that allow for easy navigation and better understanding without overwhelming customers with too much information at once.
4. Mobile Design
We also implemented a mobile-friendly design to ensure easy navigation and a smooth experience for their on-the-go audience. This included responsive layouts that adapt perfectly to any screen size, and faster loading times for a seamless user experience. By prioritizing mobile usability, we made it simple for customers to browse menus, place orders, and connect with the Mixing Bowl right from their smartphones and tablets.
